Overview

This page explains how visitors can request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information by Urban IT.

Urban IT does not sell personal information for money. We may use advertising, analytics, and remarketing technologies that could be considered “sharing” personal information under California privacy law when they support cross-context behavioral advertising.

This page is intended primarily for California residents and may also be useful to visitors in other states with similar privacy rights.

What “Sell” and “Share” Mean

In everyday language, selling usually means exchanging information for money. California privacy law can define “sale” more broadly. It can also define “sharing” to include disclosing certain personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Because Urban IT uses or may use Google, LinkedIn, Meta, and Microsoft Clarity technologies, some website activity information may be disclosed to those providers for analytics, advertising measurement, remarketing, or similar purposes.

Our Current Practice

Urban IT does not sell personal information for money. We use website and marketing service providers to operate the website, respond to inquiries, protect forms from spam, send marketing communications, measure advertising performance, and understand how visitors interact with the site.

These providers may include Google reCAPTCHA, Google pixels or tags, LinkedIn pixels, Meta pixels, Microsoft Clarity, ActiveCampaign, website hosting providers, and similar tools we may adopt later.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children under 16.

How to Opt Out

You may submit a Do Not Sell or Share request by emailing [email protected].

Suggested subject line: Do Not Sell or Share Request

In your email, include your name, email address, the website or interaction your request relates to, and whether you are requesting to opt out of sale, sharing, or both. If the request relates to browser-based tracking, let us know the browser or device context if that information is relevant. Do not send passwords, account numbers, medical information, or other sensitive details.

We will review and process your request as required by applicable law. We may need to ask for additional information to verify the request or understand which records or browser-based activity the request concerns.

Opt-Out Preference Signals

Some browsers, extensions, and privacy tools can send legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control. Where required by applicable law and where our website receives a valid signal, Urban IT treats that signal as a request to opt out of sale or sharing for that browser or device.

Opt-out preference signals are typically tied to a specific browser or device. If you use multiple browsers or devices, you may need to enable the signal or submit the request separately for each context.

What Happens After We Receive a Request

After we receive a Do Not Sell or Share request, we will evaluate the request and take reasonable steps required by applicable law to stop sale or sharing activity connected to the request.

For website cookies and pixels, some choices may depend on browser settings, cookie storage, platform controls, or technical signals. If you clear cookies, change browsers, use a different device, or later submit information again, you may need to renew your choices.

Authorized Agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request where permitted by applicable law. We may ask the agent to provide proof of authorization and may ask you to verify your identity or confirm that you authorized the agent to act for you.

Non-Discrimination

Urban IT will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. This means we will not deny services, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service solely because you exercised a privacy right, except where permitted by applicable law.

This page focuses on sale and sharing opt-out requests. For access, deletion, correction, marketing unsubscribe, or other privacy requests, review our Privacy Policy or email [email protected].
